Jacob Castaneda brings over 15 years of experience in K-12 mathematics education, with a career-long commitment to broadening access to rich mathematics. His diverse background includes roles as a high school math teacher and an after-school program network director, providing him with a holistic perspective on the K-12 mathematics landscape. He later supported school districts across New York State in the implementation of high-quality instructional practices and curricula, before serving as the founding executive director of BEAM's LA program (Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics).
Jacob's leadership in the math community is deeply rooted in the Consortium's mission. He served as an original member of the volunteer Steering committee and now returns to the organization as its inaugural Executive Director.
Outside of work, Jacob enjoys volunteering with his local run club, experimenting with new recipes, and discovering jazz deep cuts.
